At Ysgol Rhostyllen, we’re all about looking after the well-being and safety of every child. Creating a safe and supportive space is crucial for everyone, as it helps each individual reach their full potential.
We’ve established solid and robust procedures to ensure our children are well looked after. Collaboration with parents/carers and external agencies is key, and we adhere to the All Wales Child Protection Guidelines for safeguarding. Our specific policies can be easily found on our website under the Information and Policies section.
Every single staff member plays a part in safeguarding our children. We have designated staff members who focus particularly on safeguarding, and they’ve received extra training to tackle these matters.
In more complex or serious situations, we’ll reach out to the Local Authority 'Children's Single Point of Access' team. It’s worth noting that there are times when we may need to act without discussing issues with parents/carers first, as Social Services and the Police handle investigations on charges.
